A Culture Like No Other

This past week I was privileged to attend our annual retreat. This year we went to
Beaver Creek, Colorado for some fun in the snow. As always I enjoyed the team building and working sessions, but my favorite thing about the experience was building the bond and camaraderie with my fellow employees. My position has the advantage that I get to meet every employee. However, the retreat allows me to see them in action. I witnessed one employee cheer on another as they rock climbed and raced against the clock. I saw my group in the working session decide how they thought our company should spend millions of dollars in the next fiscal year. We were able to voice our opinions on where we need to put our focus the next few years to continue to be successful. I even got to swing dance with the President of Homestead!

My favorite moment of this experience was at the end of our celebration dinner when everyone had their arms around another employee screaming the song “Don’t stop Believing” by Journey. It could not have been a more appropriate message and moment to portray the feeling of attending a company retreat. Now that it is Monday morning and we are all back in the office, we have an unbreakable bond and the morale is through the roof. You could be a part of our amazing culture. We are always looking for fun, smart and inviting employees who would thrive in this type of organization.

How did you make your header on your blog??

Okay, NOW I’M EXCITED!! In the process of applying for a position at the Denver Tech Center office, I came across the request from the corporate website to do a 30-day trial if you are a job applicant. This request was not on Jobing that I could see.

So, I did and quickly discovered how great it would be to work for a company that does what Homestead does. I have a few dreams and the resources at Homestead would be very effective in helping those become a reality.

I have a background in Communications with an emphasis in Print Media. Once upon a time I did desktop publishing with Quark Express and Pagemaker. I was also a staff writer for a couple of publications. I would love to build on those skills at a company that majors in communication.

This is a company that makes great sense coming from my background.

Your corporate culture is very similar to the fun culture at Oppenheimer Funds, which was my last company. Getting into a job that’s a better fit with a company as good or better than OFI would be AWESOME!!

I Soooo hope I get to interview with Homestead!! I will absolutely work my tail off for a company like this. I worked hard for OFI, too, but I just don’t have the knack for processing mutual funds. This is waaay more interesting, believe me.

I believe I have the knack for Homestead.

Hope to see the Denver people really really soon!

    Sincerely,

    Christian H. Cate
